With years of executive and managerial experience, Jack has overseen The Tech Academy since its inception. His background spans teaching and curriculum development; he supervises daily operations and long-term planning while serving as a primary curriculum developer and author of the school’s books and policies.
Erik Gross
Co-Founder
Erik has been working in technology since the 1980s. He programmed early computers as a child and served as a nuclear reactor operator and teacher in the Navy, where he discovered his passion for teaching. His senior-level software-development experience was instrumental in developing the boot camps; he assists with curriculum oversight and public relations.
Our history
Erik founded Prosper I.T. Consulting in 2012 and began training entry-level developers.
Following his son’s interest in developer boot camps in 2013, Erik established Prosper I.T. Academy with four students in Beaverton, Oregon.
Recognizing the need for administrative expertise, he partnered with Jack Stanley at year’s end. Jack renamed the school to “The Tech Academy,” and together they developed a comprehensive curriculum with input from academia.
The school now operates with thousands of graduates employed in technology roles worldwide, maintaining both its Portland headquarters and online options.
